Mechanical Engineer

​

Overview of the role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer to join our Engineering team. Working in close connection with the R&D scientists, the successful candidate will carry out the modelling of our pilot facility components and lines, their prototyping and testing steps and their final integration into the main production plant. Moreover he/she will be asked to manage the overall plant 3D Model and to prepare all the necessary documents  for the procurement phase. The Mechanical R&D Engineer will also be responsible of interacting with potential suppliers, aligning technical offers and following up selected placed orders till their dispatchment at site. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to follow up the whole pilot plant development and the subsequent scalability of the same by analyzing its performances.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the feasibility of a product through conceptual 3D models verifying they will achieve the required performance, safety, and ruling standards

  • Mechanical systems design with CAD software: from the early engineering to the manufacturing phase, moving through the bench testing and prototyping phase.

  • Extracting detailed design drawings, writing specifications, and performing subcontractor design reviews.

  • Help defining the modeling and simulation strategies, actively engaging and coordinating with the R&D team.

  • DFMEA, PFMEA and DVP&R development on new components and processes.

  • Supporting the development of new company standards and calculation models.

  • Integration of the mechanical systems developed and management of the Pilot Plant 3D model.”

  • Provide direct or indirect support by gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation to public offices and related duties.

  • Align vendors technical quotations (both relative to the prototyping phase and to the operation phase).

  • Support the procurement process.

  • Perform post-order technical follow up directly interacting with vendors.

  • Provide commissioning and startup assistance.

  • Collaborate with external partners, such as research institutions.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of working experience.

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.

  • Experience with a CAD mechanical software (Solid Edge is a plus).

  • Experience with AutoCAD LT and Office Package.

  • FEM and CFD analysis experience is a plus.

  • Experience with Material Order technical follow-up and Vendor relationship.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Great teamwork and communication abilities.

  • Fluent in professional English.

  • Enthusiastic about broadening his/her technological expertise.

  • Knowledge of vacuum systems and carbon capture technology is a plus.
